Rodrigo is renowned for its excellent cuisine. Open since 1949, the restaurant continues to please locals and visitors alike with traditional recipes – first course dishes prepared with fresh egg pasta (from tortellini and tortelloni to tagliatelle and tagliolini) and flavoursome second course meat dishes served with seasonal side dishes ranging from mushrooms to truffles. There is also a choice of dishes prepared with fresh fish. Rodrigo is housed inside Bologna’s historical Palazzo della Zecca, only a short walk from Piazza Maggiore. ON THE MENU: start with the culatello cured ham, parmesan and a salad of mushrooms, followed by garganelli pasta with a white ragù and mushrooms and the pork cheek with a mixed side dish or the lamb fillet with balsamic vinegar and apples. IN THE CELLAR: a impressive, long list of wines, including excellent Italian and international varieties.
